Wordlists – what you should know about them

On the Words page you can browse the wordlists available to you. You will find there the following categories:

  • To learn – wordlists which you haven’t started learning or haven’t fully mastered yet,
  • Added to Repetitions – wordlists which you have looked through completely or you are currently using, the items in these lists have been added to Repetitions or have been rejected,
  • Your words – your own wordlists with the words you have added yourself,
  • Special repetitions – repetitions based on the wordlists you have chosen or the list with difficult items (the expressions you find difficult to learn while using Repetitions),
  • Items in Repetitions – a list of all the items added to Repetitions divided into: Items added to Repetitions, Rejected items, Difficult items in Repetitions and Items with notes.

Can I readd the rejected items to Repetitions?

You can easily readd the items you rejected while learning or removed from Repetitions. All you need to do is go to the wordlist management page. It includes a full list of items from wordlists. Below the rejected items, there is a link which will allow you to readd them to Repetitions.

Why is the list I have never completed marked as partially completed?

Some items are included in multiple wordlists. For example, an item can be included in a lesson and also occur on thematic lists in the Words tab. If you add an item from one of these lists to Repetitions, the progress in completing other lists including this item will be updated automatically. The system will remember that you have added this word to Repetitions and won’t display it to you again while adding the items of other lists to Repetitions.

Why does the wordlist open in the middle when I enter it again?

In order to make the learning easier, the learning system automatically goes to the first item which hasn’t been added to Repetitions yet or has been rejected.

Why can’t I get 100%? on a lesson element?

As for wordlists, it is required either to add the items to Repetitions or reject them (enter key + space bar). If you only look through the items, you will not complete the lesson page.

As for lesson pages with an assigned exercise, it is required to complete this exercise in order to complete this lesson page.

What does a wordlist look like in detail?

When you look through a wordlist, you see the items one by one. You can see a particular item and its translation, usually with pronunciation, recording (the speaker icon icon), picture and example sentence. By selecting a button, you choose to add the item to Repetitions or skip it.

Looking through a list – what keyboard shortcuts can I use?

The items on a wordlist are displayed one by one. If you want to speed up looking through the items, you can use the following keyboard shortcuts:

adding the item
removing the item from repetitions
skipping/rejecting the item
playing recordings assigned to the item (keys K and L correspond to the second and third recording, respectively, if they are assigned to the item
you can play the recording of example sentences with M, "," and "." keys (even if they’re not displayed at the moment)

Tip: The J, used to replay the recordings of words, has a special bump, so it is easy to find on the keyboard.

Can I go back to the completed lessons?

You can do the lessons and exercises in your eTutor course as many times as you want. You can go back to previously completed lessons at any time. We don’t impose a rigid learning plan – you have access to all course lessons throughout the subscription period.

Can an account be used by more than one person?

In accordance with the Terms and Regulations of the platform, one account can be used only by one person. The system optimises the learning process of the user based on the collected progress data – learning process optimisation would not be possible if the account has been used by more than one person.
