As you use eTutor, you do not have to restrict yourself to the wordlists we prepared. You can also add words by yourself. In this way, you can create your own word base.
To add a new wordlist, just go to Words: Your words and click Add new list. Next, name the new wordlist and, optionally, its description.
The number of wordlists that you can create depends on whether you have active access to eTutor.
One wordlist can contain up to 500 items.
If the default wordlist becomes full (there will be 500 items), an attempt to add another word will automatically create a new default wordlist. The new element will go there. All new items will be added to this new list – the previous list will be kept separate.
Words you add to your own wordlists appear automatically in the repetition system. However, it is possible to temporarily disable a given wordlist from the repetitions – just click on the blue three-dotted menu next to a given wordlist and select "Exclude from repetitions". From now on, items from the selected wordlist will not appear in the repetition system.
Temporary exclusion of a wordlist from repetitions will not delete repetition data about these items – after bringing them back again to the repetition system (through double-clicking the blue three-dotted menu and selecting "Bring back to repetitions"), the repetition dates that were set previously will be restored.
First, it is crucial to check if the items are really gone. For example, if you exceed the number of 500 items in a default wordlist, adding a new element will create a new default wordlist where there will be only this one element. The previous list will still exist, though, on the Your words page.
If the wordlist exists, but its items are nowhere to be seen in repetitions, please check if the wordlist has not been excluded from repetitions (information about it is displayed on the Your words page).
If you accidentally delete an item from a wordlist while editing it, please go to the version history of the wordlist. You can access it by going to the wordlist editor, selecting "Settings" ("History of versions" link). To restore one of the previous versions, you can open it, copy the text, and then paste the copied text to the wordlist editor in the "Source text" tab.
However, if the wordlist has been completely deleted from the system and is nowhere to be found on the "Your words" page, restoring the items is impossible.
